Discover - You see a bike but I see my best friend

Becoming a Rider can be a exciting time and a life changing experience. Many bikers may feel overwhelmed by a blend of physical and emotional changes while learning new tasks and skills of  biking.  I was also excited to buy a new bike, as it was a dream come true. On 13th September 2013 - a shiny black and blue Discover wonder arrived , gliding gently on to the seat with legs on the saddle. I turned the keys to right and pressed on the Push Start Button , the engine was roaring and i could feel the throttle and the heart-beat of my bike. The moment was like a baby  making her first cry after its birth. Twisting the throttle , the bike started gliding on the roads making it's entry to the world.

Sitting on the bike with only few meters off the ground affording a slightly different perspective on the world. You spot things you wouldn't normally spot and totally immersed in the natural environment. You can reach out to destinations to explore the world, bring the bike to a halt to admire a lovely view of a valley. You can't help but live in the moment, at one with the bike and nature, because there are no other distractions. It's this close proximity to the natural world that provides such as sense of escapism and relaxation.

Each ride has its own appeal. It's hard to ride through the woods in autumn adorned with golden leaves that have already fallen down and covered the road in a jewel-like carpet. In the rains, splashing through the waters and bolting home as quickly as you can escape a downpour. In the winter, I love cold crisp days when the hedgerows sparkle with frost and you bike blows huge clouds of steam from her engine.

The paths you trot along may be mostly familiar but you never know quite what you might find round the next bend. In my few years of  riding across country my bike and I have stumbled across many times, but that doesn't make us stop either and exploring the country. While riding alone is a strangely philosophical experience, hacking out with a friend is all about fun. That feeling of pure joy after a long ride, something every biker can relate to. The reason we feel so happy is pretty simple. every twist of the wrist releases adrenaline which, in turn releases endorphins. So, endorphins give us that joyous feeling but, after a ride, there's also that sense of relief, like a weight has been lifted.

On a bike you're constantly analyzing and adjusting depending on the situation. This ties us into the present moment and means our minds have no room for worries about money, job or any other day-to-day problems. You're fully engaged while riding. This is why your mind is like a blank slate when you throw your leg off after a long ride. Yes, you can burn a substantial number of calories while riding a bike - the gift that just keeps giving.

Bike has been the closest and most special thing in my life. It is one good companion that can take me to places where i have not been. Whenever i need help or support, it's always there for me. We plan our weekends and enjoy together. Its is thing which makes me happy and deserves all my love and attention. We have lived moments together and have created memories together that will remain throughout my life. Last but not the least, riding a bike requires a high level of alertness and rapid problem-solving. According to Kawashima, " the driver's brain gets activated by riding bikes".  Soon you to get the bike and go on a long ride.

"No hours of time is wasted when its spend on two wheels"
