Avalabetta - Life is either a Daring Adventure or Nothing

What usually stops the "doing something" and "following your heart" is fear of course: a fear of failure, or humiliation, or rejection and so on. Fear either gives rise to desire to try and control everything, or a feeling that no matter what you do, it will never amount to anything. People who go out and experience the world may not be safer either but life is richer, more colorful and more wonderful.

Yes, we might be stuck in the same old, same old. Life may be feeling mundane and boring, hard work and difficult. But what we will always have is choice - and choice is exciting. If nothing else in life, we have a choice in how we respond and react to the mundane and boring and difficult. But in that small moment of decision and change, adventure exists.

Traveling to Chikkaballapur, one of  the most offbeat destination for Bengalureans and its also the birthplace of  eminent engineer Sir Visvesvarya. On the entrance of Chikkaballapur, there's the newly built temple , Maruti Mandir opposite to SJC Institute of technology. Continuing into the streets of Chikkaballapur, we reached Rangasthala - a small town near Chikkaballapur. There's a famous temple been built by Hoysala Kings and recently renovated by the efforts of devotees. Sri Moksha Ranganatha ( A sleeping form of  Lord Vishnu) is the presiding deity here in this temple. The deity is carved in a single stone of Shaligrama Stone. One has to admire the Lords beauty and is called Jaganmohana - one who enchants the Universe. On the lotus feet of  the Lord are Neeladevi and Bhudevi.

Admired by the beauty of the Lord and riding along the borders of  Karnataka - Andhra, we reach Avalabetta. Famous for its hanging cliff, Avalabetta attracts many tourists from Bangalore. The view of the surrounding landscape is spectacular. A vendor down the hill, was selling Churumuri - a popular rice puffed snack. She forced us to buy, we took two packets and started trekking  the hill. There are two ways to reach to the top , one the cemented road and other with the broken steps. Steps were shorter and we took that. The cool breeze made our trek a pleasant experience with few breaks and snaps.

The Narasimha Swamy Temple is located in the first level, behind the temple is a road, which leads to the danger hanging cliff, where adventurers come to experience their dares. The hanging cliff has developed cracks and be careful while your on the beak shaped rock.

Being up high there where there is a expensive vista and triggered with anxiety or panic, there so many things in view. It was daring to be there on the edge of the cliff, a couple of snaps were taken by my friend. When i called him for the snap, he neglected to come as he had fear of heights and did not want to take a risk. Finally after several arguments to overcome his fear, i took a snap of him. It was a moment of fear and then i was never scared again. Trekking down with the adventures, our next destination was Dandiganahalli dam. Unknown to many - this spot is covered with mountains and beautiful sky. We can walk across the bridge, which leads into the water and take some picturesque landscapes.

This place is good for spotting colorful birds and we can trek around the nearby hills. Revving through the villages, bumpy roads we saw another dam Jakkala Madugu, a small dam built by the Sir Visvesvarya. Its the main source of water to Chikkaballapur and Doddaballapur. Riding back to home, with adventure that will always be remembered.
